The Pleasaunce The Pleasaunce

Situated on the North Norfolk coast, The Pleasaunce is a beautiful Grade II listed home.

Originally built for Lord and Lady Battersea, it stands in 6 acres of spacious grounds, offering play areas for children and gardens in which to stroll or just sit and enjoy the surroundings.

The house is situated 100 yards from the cliffs which overlook a sandy beach. The Pleasaunce is a perfect base for holidaymakers, conferences, groups, weekend/mid-week breaks, school parties and retreats.

The Pleasaunce can accommodate up to 80 guests. There is also a self catering bungalow in the grounds which can accommodate 4 people.

Reopening and Thanksgiving Celebration

200 visit The Pleasaunce as it opens its doors again.

On Saturday 1st July, The Pleasaunce celebrated its reopening, with over 200 guests joining in the rededication of its Christian service in the local area.

After extensive redecoration and upgrade of all the first floor rooms, the new managers, Phillip and Jillian Orme, were ready to welcome the first guests on Friday 30th June.

On a gloriously sunny day, Mark Thompson, Chair of Trustees for CEHC, was delighted to welcome everyone to the Reopening and Celebration Service, and to thank all those involved in helping to get to this wonderful point where The Pleasaunce could welcome guests back to enjoy the splendour of the house and gardens with stunning sea views.

Our Centre Managers - Phillip and Jillian Orme

Phillip and Jillian Orme We are delighted to announce that we have appointed a very experienced couple, Phillip and Jillian Orme as Centre Managers of The Pleasaunce.

Phillip and Jillian both grew up in Sheffield and met whilst Phillip was serving in the Royal Air Force. They married in 1981. Phillip and Jillian became Christians together in 1989 and began attending St Edwards Anglican Church in Donington, Leicestershire. They were involved in Youth and Children's work and were heavily involved in the Cursillo movement within the Anglican Church.

In 2007 they felt called by God to move into full time Christian Ministry and began working as Centre Managers in Pirbright, Surrey for Sandes. This is an organisation which serves the military community in centres located on military bases across the UK by providing a permanent Christian presence distributing Scriptures, offering pastoral support, Bible study, prayer meetings, and children's Bible Clubs etc. These neutral, non-military spaces provide a home from home for soldiers and their families who can face incredible pressures and stressful working lives. Sandes also looks after soldiers and their families through providing meals, play clubs, support sessions and toddler groups. For the next nine and a half years, Phillip and Jillian were able to develop their gifts of hospitality and compassion working closely with some remarkable young men and women. They also felt called to lead a fundraising initiative to generate £350,000 for the total refurbishment of the Pirbright centre.

'Having felt God telling them that it was time to move on, they are enjoying the challenge of their new life at The Pleasaunce. Please pray for them in their exciting new role.

Please pray for them as they enter their exciting new role.
